About DAM Classic Racing
Whether you are purchasing on the internet or in person always give thoughtful consideration to those generous people around the world who spend thousands of hours sourcing or making the parts kept in stock so you can continue to maintain your classic bike.
Sometimes re-manufactured parts may not be a perfect replica of the original part. Greg tries very hard to ensure his research is correct, but sometimes you might have to make small adjustments or accept that these parts are now the best replacement available. DAM Classic Racing's prices are set to enable it to continue providing you with spare parts with the convenience of online ordering and trackable shipping. On very rare occasions some parts may not integrate seamlessly with parts purchased from other manufacturers. If any part you purchase is not what you expected then please call and remember to leave a message if there's no answer. DAM Classic Racing enjoys enabling its customers to continue riding and will work to find a solution for your problem with the minimum of fuss.
DAM Classic Racing is 100% Australian owned and operated and supports all classic bikes and classic racing with spare parts including Dellorto carburettor parts, AP Racing (Lockheed) and Brembo brakes, Ignitech and Moto Witt ignitions. DAM Classic Racing also specialises in providing service and spare parts for Laverda motorcycles.
DAM® is an International Registered Trademark.
The company came into being in 2004 when Greg Parish set up in his home workshop to provide maintenance and service facilities for members of the local Laverda clubs in Victoria. His experience of having raced Laverda motorcycles in Superbike races throughout the 1980's became a unique source of knowledge for Laverda riders. Greg went on to win the Australian BEARS Championship (Formula European Series) in 1990 and finished 5th in the WSBK World Superbike Classic that same year. The history of his racing and return to racing in 2011 can be found by clicking on this LINK to the legacy DAM Group website. His sons Jesse and Angus continue the racing tradition setting Drag Racing Records and Salt Lake Land Speed Records won on Laverda machines built and developed by DAM Classic Racing.
In 2007 Greg was contracted by FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) as Director of Lighting Data Acquisition to work with five times Moto GP World Champion Mick Doohan and a lighting manufacturing group to conduct night-time tests to ascertain the feasibility of running MotoGP under lights. The first MotoGP under lights was staged in 2008 at the Qatar Lusail circuit and the winner being Australian Casey Stoner.
In Australia the service business grew and the DAM logo became an International Registered Trademark ® for all motorcycle parts manufactured by DAM Classic Racing. In 2015 the business moved into the Springvale workshop shared with Stealth Electric Bikes, DMCo, and Iron Horse Trading before Greg relocated to premises in Swanpool in 2021. Its service workshop has engineering machinery for engine refurbishing and restoration of parts. The separate spare parts warehouse has an inventory of more than 4000 spare parts in stock to supply Laverda owners, other motorcycle repair shops and the specialised needs of the Classic Racer.
Greg is known as a classic motorcycle enthusiast. He makes every effort to provide the highest quality parts and services to keep your classic bike on the road or racetrack to be ridden and enjoyed as the manufacturer intended. Life is short. Enjoy the ride!
