82100102 Laverda 180º Series 1
This DMC (Digital Motor Control) system uses a Multi-lobe Trigger that signals a single Kokosan pickup to fire the ignition coils for the Laverda 180º 1000cc & 1200cc Series-1 models 1973-1980.
Two high-output battery charging coils are mounted on a solid anodised CNC machined Alloy Backing Plate. The upgraded output charging system utilises the existing Laverda Alternator Rotor to ensure perfect balance of the rotor on the long end of the crankshaft and delivers up to 200 Watts of power.
Some modern racing ignition systems can draw up to 1Amp per 1000rpm and require extremely high alternator output to avoid misfire above 5000rpm. But at lower cruising speeds of road riding the excess output is converted to heat in the Regulator Rectifier that can result in melted wiring connections and premature regulator failure. The DMC/32 draws very little current even at maximum revs. The regulator and wiring connections run cooler and more power is available in reserve for accessories such as Heated Grips or USB Phone Charging and Wireless Communications.
Developed in Germany after extensive research and race development that began in the early 1980's, the DMC/32 system is a lightweight, durable, solid state digital computer with simple external provision for setting sixteen different dyno tested advance curves using just a small screwdriver. This allows fine tuning of the internal master program that has been developed specifically for your engine type. No laptop computer or software skills are required. The digital idle speed program in every DMC module produces smoother running at idle revs, this is excellent software development for both standard engines and high compression motors fitted with performance camshafts.
Included with each DMC ignition are all necessary connectors, conversion parts and a detailed installation and tuning manual.
PRE 1978 MODELS: A New HT Coils SET is required for early model Laverda 1000/1200 fitted with the HKZ iginiton/coil integrated units. A Dual Output Coil and 2x Spark Plug Caps for the two outer cylinders, and a Single Output Coil, and Spark Plug Cap for the centre cylinder. For best performance it is recommended to replace the old plugs with new 3 x Resistor Spark Plugs.

This still leaves a large reserve of 5 amps to charge and maintain the battery voltage without excessive overheating of the Regulator Rectifier.
