In 2019, being the 70th Anniversary Year of Laverda motorcycles, Angus Parish (D.A.M. Classic Racing) set a new Land Speed Record in the 500cc Classic Production Class on a 1977 Laverda 500 Alpina.
The story of the record attempt has been published in the book 'Legendary Laverda 1949-2019’ Author Jean Louis Olive (France)
The last line of the text reads: 'This is probably the fastest speed ever recorded for the Laverda 500cc Alpina.
