This DMC (Digital Motor Control) system uses a Multi-lobe Trigger that signals a single Kokosan pickup to fire the coils for the Laverda 180º 1000cc & 1200cc Series 1 three cylinder models 1973-1980.
Two high-output battery charging coils are mounted on a solid anodised CNC machined Alloy Backing Plate. The upgraded output charging system utilises your existing Laverda Alternator Rotor to ensure perfect balance of the rotor on the long end of the crankshaft.
(Note: some earlier alternator upgrades used a Kawasaki alternator rotor that required dismantling and reassembly to fit onto the Laverda crankshaft. These rotors may not have been dynamically balanced after modification and can cause serious crankshaft problems at continued high revs.)
Developed in Germany after extensive research and race development, the DMC/32 system is a lightweight, durable, solid state digital computer with simple external provision for setting sixteen different advance curves using just a small screwdriver. No laptop computer is required. This allows fine tuning of the internal master program that has been developed specifically for your engine type. Also, the digital idle speed program in every DMC module produces smoother running at idle speed, this is excellent for both standard engines and high compression motors fitted with hot cams.
Included with each DMC ignition are all necessary connectors, conversion parts and a detailed installation and tuning manual.
PRE 1978 MODELS: New HT Coils SET is required for early model Laverda 1000/1200 fitted with HKZ iginiton/coil integrated units. A Dual Output Coil and 2x Spark Plug Caps for the two outer cylinders, and a Single Output Coil, and Spark Plug Cap for the centre cylinder. For best performance it is recommended to replace the old plugs with new 3 x Spark Plugs.
