Suits some early BMW R series centre carriers

If required:

REFURBISHMENT PROCESS approximately $130/disc:

• You must send your brake disc including the centre and ABS ring [if applicable] all attached. Please do not remove brake disc from carrier.

• Our Technician will carefully take your brake disc and carrier apart.

• If the centre is silver/alloy, it will be bead blasted to return it to the original look. If the centre was painted black it will be given a general clean only.

• Centres can be repainted at an additional cost of $88.00 per carrier. Please advise Sales Representative at time of booking.

• The centre will be machined on the lip where the new disc is applied as well as the back of the carrier to remove any paint if necessary.

• The Technician will apply a new MetalGear Brake Disc Rotor to your original carrier with nuts and bolts.

• The completed disc will go through strict quality control to ensure perfect braking performance.

An estimated turnaround time will be given when booking your disc for refurbishment.

Solid Discs are made of one complete segment of stainless steel [equivalent to Japanese standard SUS 420 or 2CR13 and is heat treated to HRC 36 +- 2]
Venting holes or slotted venting as per OEM designed to improve braking performance and reduce the disc temperature. The most important aspect of these solid discs is the attention to detail, and this can be seen through the accuracy of the measurements, and the control over the thickness of the discs.

All solid discs come with a one year manufacturer warranty except when used off road or racing
Important!  You require new brake pads when you fit your new disc to your bike

We recommend to use a drop of LOCTITE on the fixing bolts. 

MetalGear warrants that the products we sell are free from defects in workmanship and materials. MetalGear Brake Discs come with a 12 month warranty if the disc is fitted with new MetalGear Brake Pads. A Warranty Claim decision cannot be determined until the goods have been returned to MetalGear International Pty Ltd for inspection. We reserve the right to test and assess any products returned to us in order to determine whether a breach of warranty has occurred. If the bike is fitted with twin front discs and pads, both sides have to be sent back to us to be inspected. Freight expenses for return of warranty claims are the customer’s responsibility. Stop using the faulty goods immediately until the goods can be returned.

Warranty does not cover: 

• When goods are used for racing, track days and other extreme conditions.
• If the 12 month warranty period has expired or the product has been modified by you.
• When the goods are not fitted by a certified mechanic and/or not using the service manual of your exact bike make/model/year and type.
• When the goods exceed the minimum thickness.
• If the goods are mounted to a bike model it is not specified to fit.
• If a new set of pads are not fitted at the same time that the new discs are fitted.
• If frequent inspections are not maintained or if other frequent maintenance has not been carried out to other parts involving the braking performance.
• Where any parts have been subject to misuse, neglect or accidental damage.
• A specialised one-off disc modified and manufactured to the customers specifications.
