The use of Fibreglass Exhaust Wrap can increase the performance and efficiency of an engine. The wrap prevents the exhaust headers from cooling down, keeping the gases at a high temperature. By maintaining exhaust gases at higher temperatures the intake and exhaust gases are pulled more quickly through the engine, which increases the performance.

Fibreglass Exhaust Wrap can in some circumstances significantly reduce engine temperatures by reducing the amount of radiant heat that is blown back onto the engine cooling fins. The wrap serves as a thermal blanket which contains the heat in the exhaust gas until it reaches the outlet rather than radiating from the sides of the pipe.

It can also be used to reduce heat to the rider’s legs or other components such as the bodywork of the bike.

WARNING!
Headers and pipes can be damaged due to excessive heat build-up resulting in split or cracks in the metal. This is also true for headers that are Ceramic Coated. Care and constant vigilance to ensure correct fuel mixture and regular inspection of the pipe is mandatory.
