IMPORTANT: Ignitech CDI ignition modules are most often designed primarily to have its power supplied from a low voltage AC generator, but with variations of this unit it is also possible to be powered from DC 12 V battery supply.
Ignitech produce 3 types of capacitive type ignitions with sub categories according to the bike’s power supply.
- Only DC 12 V powered (need battery) - DCCDI, DCCDIP, DCCDIP2, DCCDIP4
- Low voltage AC generator or DC powered - ADCCDI. ADCCDIP, DCCDIP1 race
- High voltage AC generator powered - ACCDI, ACCDIP
It is important to give as much information about your existing ignition and bike model as possible when ordering.
This unit is a Pre-programmed Capacitive Discharge Ignition for motorbikes equipped with a 12V Battery. It is delivered pre-programmed for your particular bike/model.
When placing your order please indicate in the 'ORDER COMMENTS' the Year Make and Model of your motorcycle to ensure the correct ignition curve is installed.
SPARKER DC-CDI ignition is a capacitive device with electronic regulation of ignition advance as function of rpm (engine speed).The ignition unit is sealed in a plastic box 85x67x26 mm with bundles of input and output conductors with pins. Counterpart connectors are supplied.
In many single-cylinder road motorcycles the CDI ignition is supplied by a high voltage alternator coil. This SPARKER DC-CDI ignition is designed for those bikes equipped with an accumulator and is made in many versions for individual bike types. It can be fitted to practically any carburettor single-cylinder motorbike with stable voltage 12VDC. e.g. DR, XT, XL, KLR, and many two-stroke bikes fitted with a 12V battery.
If the sensor system of a particular bike does not comply with SPARKER DC-CDI ignition versions made at present it can be included into Ignitech's production programme within a few days and delivery in a couple of weeks.
SPARKER DC-CDI ignition can be equipped with a blocking input for connection of side stand switch, blocking input for connection of ENGINE OFF switch, output for tachometer and fuel pump relay. A Rev Limiter can be implemented in the ignition software on request.
5K Ohm Resistor plug caps are required to avoid damage to the Ignition unit.
